Steel Bent CB750 Brat
By Anthony van Someren - 21 Sep 12
Steel Bent Customs have a clear style developing, with super clean lines, uncluttered subframes, slim, frame-hugging brat-style seats and they usually prompt the question; "where the f*ck is the battery?" from at least one or two Shed-watchers.
The guys have been teasing us with this latest build - a 1981 Honda CB750 - for a while now, and finally the beast is officially revealed.
In SBC's own words - from Michael Mundy:
"The 1971 Honda CB750 -the Brat. We started with a raw vision. We started by tearing her down to uncover her history. The tank showed signs of repair, so instead of covering her past, we clear coated to showcase her path. Someone in the past 41 years damaged her & may have injured themselves, and we didn't want to minimize this by hiding it. Then we went with a CB650 front end, we fabricated a set of clip on bars out of a older triple tree, added a smaller minimalist headlight, wrapped her custom 4 into 1 header w/a Cone Engineering exhaust, and sat her on a set of Shinko 705 tires (less aggressive than our original choice of the Continental TKC-80). We cleaned up the wiring, added a single side speedo, and finished with a flat style custom pan seat.
Her SOHC 750 screams with the free flowing exhaust with a drone that urges to run. We've put a couple hundred miles on her in the last couple months & she is ready to make her home in a new garage.
Going up for sale on eBay with a no reserve auction soon!"

As usual it's as clean as possible, not even molested by a dab of paint on the tank and untroubled by chrome or any shiny bling. It's this general lack of frills that we really like here in the Shed - although there's nothing wrong with posh paint.
The exhaust and tail just clinches it... See more great work from Michael Mundy and Co here and here.
