La Motographe WR450
By Ross Sharp - 09 Apr 19
Dirtbikes are awesome, of that there is no doubt. But unless you dig snazzy graphics they pretty much all look the same - a bit boring. And that's coming from someone who had an unhealthy obsession with early nineties 'crossers.
Most customisers with muddy intentions have bought and modified every last Honda NX650 in existence, while true enduro weapons have mostly been overlooked. This dashing duo from France were asked to fulfil a brief to build a radical trail bike based on something modern, lightweight and capable - Yamaha's excellent WR450F. I've got the 250 version and can attest to it being a great tool for actual off-roading, not just the slow motion lumps and bumps found in Instagramland.
While this bike is being enjoyed in America a supermoto version has been built, and is staying in Europe, for good reason.
To find out more about Jerome, Yvan and their company La Motographe you'll need to do two things. First, head to the BikeBound website for the specs, build story and more photos. Then, if you want to meet the guys and check out this skeletal masterpiece in the metal get yourself along to Bike Shed London 2019 next month. The lads are part of a caravan of French builders heading over for our show.
